Winter Series I - White Rock
Sunday 2nd July 2023
Fords Road, Loburn
Ride Brief
Hosted at the absolutely stunning White Rock Mains Equestrian thanks to Duncan Mackintosh and his family.
The ride is a great mixture of flat and gradual hill work with beautiful views. For the parents who will be leading their little ones, there is a wee creek to go through so bear in mind when deciding on your footwear!
Most of the ride is on grass although there will be some farm tracks which might be a little rougher. If your horse is used to being barefoot these areas should be okay, otherwise err on the side of caution with hoof boots.
Ride Brief
This is a general ride brief and information. Please make sure you attend your ride briefing at the specified time on the day, as this may have more details and important information. All riders MUST ATTEND, no exceptions.
General housekeeping
1. Manure - please bring bags to take your manure away with you.
2. Hay/feed- to be collected and taken with you.
3. Rubbish - absolutely no rubbish is to be left on base or on the track. If you drop something, please make sure you pick it up.
4. Fire extinguisher - There will be a fire extinguisher in the Canterbury Club Trailer. Any emergency needs to be reported to Marga Marshall, Andrea Rigby or Wendy Farnell as soon as possible. Please use your common sense around this.
On Track
1. Track manners - Please be courteous of other competitors at all times. There will be common ground on the track so if you would like to pass, please ask if it is okay and give the competitor/s plenty of room.
2. Rider Courtesy - Even if your horse is friendly, please keep space between you and other horses. Horses with red ribbons in their tails should be treated as if they could kick, blue ribbons are for stallions. You should give all horses as much space as possible for their safety and yours.
3. Markers - Coloured arrows, dazzled milk bottles
4. Course – The course will follow through farmland. It's a working farm so please respect the farm property, leaving all gates as found and being careful when around stock and machinery.
